Läget i byn har försämrats, då ryska styrkor nu är runt om och alldeles i närheten och Gammalsvenskby är isolerad. Vi uppmanar därför alla som har kontakter med byborna att inte lägga ut namn på era vänner offentligt. Det kan vara en hot mot deras säkerhet.
Byborna är oroliga för plundring som pågått i andra byar, då de ryska soldaterna är hungriga. Flera borgmästare i deras län har kidnappats. De har därför sedan krigets början en vägspärr vid infarten till byn och patrullerar dygnet runt.
Internet svajar, så tidvis är det svårt att få kontakt. Byn får inte längre några mat eller medicinleveranser utifrån. Brödleveranserna från Beryslav är begränsade och räcker inte till. Det går inte att betala med kort i byn (vilket fungerar i städerna). Och då det inte finns möjlighet att ta ut kontanter börjar kontanterna sina, men det spelar ingen roll, när det inte finns något att köpa. I nuläget är det svårt eller omöjligt att komma in med hjälp.
De hjälps åt för att klara situationen så bra som möjligt.
Byn ligger 110 mil från närmaste fredlig gräns, vilket gör det svårt att lämna byn på ett säkert sätt.

The situation in the village has deteriorated, as Russian forces now are surround and very close by, and Gammalsvenskby is isolated. We therefore urge everyone who has contacts with the villagers not to post the names of your friends in public. It could be a threat to their security.
The villagers are worried about looting that has taken place in other villages, as the Russian soldiers are hungry. Several mayors in their counties have been kidnapped. Therefore, since the beginning of the war, they have had a roadblock at the entrance to the village and patrol around the clock.
The Internet is swaying, so at times it is difficult to get in touch. The village no longer receives any food or medicine supplies from outside. Bread deliveries from Beryslav are limited and not enough. It is not possible to pay by card in the village (which works in the cities). And when it is not possible to withdraw cash, the cash starts, but it does not matter, when there is nothing to buy. At present it is difficult or impossible to get in with aid shipments.
They help each other to cope with the situation as well as possible.
The village is 110 km from the nearest peaceful border, which makes it difficult to leave the village safely.
