Äntligen!
De ryska ockupanterna lämnade igår Gammalsvenskby.

Innan de lämnade slog de ner alla elstolpar runt byn och minerade allt runt byn. De hälsade också att byn kommer att förstöras från andra sidan floden. Som avskedspresent sprängde de Kungsvägen samt vägen till Novo Berislav. Kungsvägen är den väg som byggdes från den stora vägen ner till byn i samband med det svenska kungabesöket 2008.

Byn är nu därför isolerad och det finns stor risk för terrorbombning. Vi inväntar nu att byn kan bli säkrad och befriad, så att vi kan komma in med nödhjälp. Vi tillsammans med de svenska hjälporganisationerna Blågula bilen och Operation Aid för att få in hjälp så snart som möjligt. Och detta gör vi tillsammans med byborna, så att hjälpen blir så effektiv som möjligt.
Byn är utan el, vatten och internet. De har inte heller bränsle för att kunna hålla husen varma inför vintern, som nu knackar på dörren. Det kan också bli aktuellt med evakuering till säkrare platser om det krävs.

Finally!
The Russian occupiers left Gammalsvenskby yesterday.

Before they left, they knocked down all the electricity poles around the village and mined everything around the village. They also greeted that the village will be destroyed from the other side of the river. As a parting gift, they blew up Kungsvägen and the road to Novo Berislav. Kungsvägen is the road that was built from the main road down to the village in connection with the Swedish royal visit in 2008.

The village is now therefore isolated and there is a great risk of terrorist bombing. We are now waiting for the village to be secured and liberated, so that we can enter with emergency aid. We together with the Swedish aid organizations Blågula Bilen and Operation Aid to get help as soon as possible. And we do this together with the villagers, so that the help is as effective as possible.
The village is without electricity, water and internet. They also do not have fuel to be able to keep the houses warm for winter, which is now knocking at the door. It may also be relevant to evacuate to safer places if required.

Enligt flera nyhetsrapporteringar händer det otroligt mycket på den Cherson fronten nu. Många byar har blivit befriade. Den närmaste är Novokairy och ligger 11 km norr om byn. Vi vet av tidigare erfarenhet av kriget att befriade byar ofta terrorbombas och vägar mineras av Ryssland när de lämnar.


Vi inväntar nya rapporter och hoppas på en snar befrielse!

The situation in the village is stable bad. It is very difficult to keep in touch. There is no electricity, internet or bread. The Russian mobile network works very poorly. According to news stories, an incredible amount is happening on the Kherson front now. Many villages have been liberated. The nearest is Novokairy and is 11 km north of the village. We know from past experience of the war that liberated villages are often terror bombed and roads mined by Russia when they leave.
We await new reports and hope for a quick release!

Vi har mycket svårt att ha kontakt med Gammalsvenskby. Läget är fortfarande stabilt dåligt. Det finns inte el, vatten eller internet.
Ukrainska armén har idag befriat den viktiga järnvägsknuten Snihurivka på Chersonfronten. Och på eftermiddagen har flera medier rapporterat att Ryssland går till reträtt från den västra banken av Cherson, enligt ett direktsänt TV-tal av den ryska försvarsministern. Men det finns ännu ryska styrkor kvar i staden Cherson.

Vi vet av tidigare erfarenhet av kriget att befriade byar ofta terrorbombas och vägar mineras av Ryssland när de lämnar.

Vi ber för byn och en snar befrielse!

Det är nästan omöjligt att få kontakt med byn. Den lilla information vi fått är att läget är som tidigare mycket svårt.
Det är kallare. Det finns inte el och därmed inte vatten och det är mycket svårt att hålla kontakt med omvärlden och nära och kära det internet fungerar dåligt.

Kenneth Gregg skriver i sin rapport på facebook att ryska soldater vid norra Chersonfronten (i det område där byn ligger) är hungriga. De plundrar och stjäl djur från civilbefolkningen. Han skriver att det börjar bli anarki i dessa trupper. Han menar att läget kommer bli outhärdig när kölden kommer, vilket kommer leda till myteri bland soldaterna.

Den ryska ockupationsmyndigheten säger att de ska utföra en obligatorisk evakuering av Berislav. Om detta innefattar byarna i Berislavs distrikt (där Gammalsvenskby ingår) är oklart.

Kenneth Gregg writes in his report that Russian soldiers on the northern Kherson front (in the area where the village is located) are hungry. They loot and steal animals from the civilian population. He writes that there is beginning to be anarchy in these troops. He believes that the situation will become unbearable when the cold comes, which will lead to mutiny among the soldiers.

Ryska ockupationsmakten har stängt av elen i staden Cherson. Och i Berislavs distrikt som byn tillhör slår de ner alla elstolpar för att förstöra så mycket infrastruktur som möjligt.

De ryska soldaterna stjäl allt de kan i Gammalsvenskby. De har inte mat så de stjäl fjäderfän, ankor och kycklingar, då de inte har något att äta. De ryska soldaterna har beslagtagit hus. De hugger upp inredning och gör ved av trädgårdarnas träd, som de eldar med i kaminerna.De har stulit de flesta bilar, vilket gör det svårt för byborna att göra inköp till matbutiken eller handla förnödenheter och mediciner i staden Berislav.

Ockupanterna stal en bil och rullstol från en äldre rullstolsburen kvinna. Hon fick tas till sjukhus efter att de knuffat ut henne ur hennes bil och misshandlat hennes chaufför.

They have stolen most of the cars, making it difficult for the villagers to shop at the grocery store or buy supplies and medicine in the town of Berislav.
The occupants stole a car and wheelchair from an elderly wheelchair-bound woman. She had to be taken to hospital after they pushed her out of her car and assaulted her driver.

Tack för alla bidrag som kommer in, det värmer hjärtat att se att så många vill hjälpa. Och det är en hjälp som behövs och kommer att behövas framåt.

Nyheterna vittnar om att ockupationsmaktens soldater har grävt ner sig i skyttevärn runt Cherson stad. De erfarna förbanden har lämnat Cherson och den västra banken (den sida Gammalsvenskby ligger på) fylls på med oerfarna soldater, som fördröjer den ukrainska motoffensiven.

We have had difficulty getting in touch with the village in the last 24 hours. But what we found out from today is that the situation is unchanged, that is, stable bad. There is no electricity and therefore no water. It is very difficult to keep in touch with the outside world or loved ones as Russian internet and mobile coverage work very poorly.
Russian soldiers remain in the village. There are also problems with replenishing the grocery store’s stock.
The news reports that the soldiers of the occupying power have dug themselves into bullet holes around Kherson city. The experienced units have left Kherson and the western bank (the side Gammalsvenskby is on) is being filled with inexperienced soldiers, who are delaying the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

Det är många ryska soldater kvar i byn. De har stulit flera bilar, bland annat den bil som används för att hämta varor till byns butik vilket kommer att ställa till stora problem med försörjning till byn.

Den ryska ockupationsmakten har öppnat dammluckorna vid Nova Kakhovka. Vid byn är floden Dnipro 6 km bred. Vattenståndet har aldrig varit så lågt i den som nu.

Våra hjälparbetare har lyckats köpa in mer mediciner i staden Berislav. Bland annat nödvändig parkinsonmedicin. Vi har haft problem med utbetalningarna till byn den senaste veckan, då bankerna krånglar med betalningar till Ukraina. Men det är nu löst efter några samtal och möten.

Nyheterna säger att ockupationsmyndighéten har lämnat en del byar söder om Cherson och de har även övergivit delar av regionstaden Cherson och tagit ner den ryska flaggan på stadshuset. Vad detta betyder vet vi inte än.

En av våra kontakter som hjälper andra nyligen befriade byar i Chersons oblast vittnar om att det finns otroligt många minor och blindgångare. Han ser gropar i de asfalterade vägarna, där minröjarna plockat bort minor. Det är förenat med livsfara att röra sig på stäppen och mindre vägar.

There are many Russian soldiers left in the village. They have stolen several cars, including the car that is used to pick up goods for the village store, which will cause major problems with supply to the village.
The Russian occupying power has opened the sluice gates at Nova Kakhovka. At the village, the river Dnipro is 6 km wide. The water level has never been as low in it as it is now.

Our aid workers have managed to purchase more medicines in the town of Berislav. Among other things, necessary Parkinson’s medication. We have had problems with the payments to the village in the last week, as the banks are struggling with payments to Ukraine. But it is now resolved after some meetings.

The news says that the occupation authorities have left some villages south of Kherson and they have also abandoned parts of the regional city of Kherson and taken down the Russian flag on the city hall. What this means we don’t know yet.


One of our contacts who helps other recently liberated villages in Kherson Oblast testifies that there are an incredible number of mines and dead ends. He sees potholes in the paved roads, where minesweepers have removed mines. It is associated with danger to life to move on the steppe and smaller roads.

Byborna gläds åt att internet finns, så det går att hålla kontakt med nära och kära. De har mat då de lever till stor del på självhushåll med potatis, lök och andra grönsaker. De flesta har höns, ankor eller gäss. De flesta syltar och konserverar sin mat, som är en säkrare metod när elen är osäker.
Ockupationsmaktens soldaterna är kvar i byn. Fler bilar har stulits av byns innevånare. Jaktflygen flyger ofta och lågt över byn. De ukrainska väpnade styrkorna trycker på från norr och väster, så det pågår mycket strider i närområdet.
Vi hoppas på snar befrielse!

Läget är stabilt dåligt. Internet har varit avstängt i några dagar, men fungerar, om än dåligt igen. Det finns dock inte el, vilket gör det mycket svårt att hålla kontinuerli kontakt med omvärlden. Och finns det inte el, finns det inte heller vatten, vilket leder till att livet blir mycket besvärligt.
Vad vi känner till är ockupationsmaktens soldater kvar I byn. De ryska trupper som tidigare lämnade byn har förstört en persikolund vid Dnipro och lämnat kvar drivor med konservburkar och vodkaflaskor.

Ryska armén har börjat vräka civila på andra sidan Dnipro och gör en ny försvarslinje där. De flyttar in i privatbostäder och minerar samt bygger befästningar, bland annat i staden Kakhovka som ligger snett mitt emot byn. Det svenska konsulatet där bombades för två veckor sedan av ukrainska armén, då ryska officerare hade slagit sig ner och upprättat ett försvarshögkvarter där.

Vi har inte lyckats få kontakt med Gammalsvenskby eller Nova Kakhovka det senaste två dygnen.
Vår kontakt i Kherson berättar att de ryska myndigheterna fortsätter att tvångsevakuera dem som redan blivit ryska medborgare och nu hotar deportera dem som vill förbli ukrainska medborgare. De som ännu så vill ska erbjudas ryskt medborgarskap.
Frontlinjen har inte ändrats officiellt, men det pågår hårda strider i Chersons län.

We have not managed to get in touch with Gammalsvenskby or Nova Kakhovka in the last two days.
Our contact in Kherson tells us that the Russian authorities continue to forcibly evacuate those who have already become Russian citizens and are now threatening to deport those who want to remain Ukrainian citizens. Those who still want to be offered Russian citizenship.
The front line has not officially changed, but there is heavy fighting in Kherson County.
